Hope Network Workforce Development has partnered with Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) through Davenport University, to be a host site for free tax preparation services. This service is available to all Hope Network staff, consumers and the public.

Income tax assistance is available on Fridays, beginning February 3rd, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Education Center in Grand Rapids.

Hope Network hosted a special book signing of the new book, 'The Book of Cake' a collection of Cake stories from the past year which feature Hope Network consumers, employees and volunteers. 

Award winning writer Tom Rademacher, who writes the stories for Hope Network,  addressed the crowd of employees, Board Members and many of the people featured in the stories.

Heart of West Michigan United Way invites you to take on the Small Business Challenge, created through a generous matching grant of $100,000 from the Steelcase Foundation. Any new United Way gift of $1,000 or more from a workplace of 100 or less employees will be matched up to a total of $100,000 by the end of March 2012.
 
Small businesses are the heart of most communities, yet during the 2010 United Way Campaign small businesses of 100 employees or less made up only 11.5% of total campaign dollars. This campaign year, United Way is hoping to change that with the Small Business Challenge.

We're excited to be a part of the 2012 Fifth Third River Bank Run, and see it as a great opportunity to promote wellness and Hope!

(Reprinted from the Grand Rapids Press) At the age of 24, Keith Knuth suffered a traumatic brain injury that significantly affected his mobility and left him dependent on a wheelchair.
Like many Michigan residents, Knuth was an avid hunter and all around sportsman prior to his accident, but his injuries made him wonder whether he would ever pursue his hobby again.
Six months into his rehabilitation, Knuth was introduced to Scott Fletcher and the Outdoor Recreation Program at Hope Network. The program offers people who have limitations after severe accident or injury an opportunity to relearn skills that will allow them to continue participating in outdoor activities.

McKinley received the Independence Award at Hope Network's 10th Annual Legacy gala on Friday, November 4, 2011.

Grand Rapids – Hope Network announces that Dr. Mohan Krishnan has joined the Center for Autism as Neuropsychologist. Dr. Krishnan comes to the Center for Autism after completing a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr. Krishnan received his Master’s and Doctoral degrees from the University of Florida.

The Hope Network Assistive Technology Project gets its feet off the ground with recent financial support from AT&T of $10,000 that fills nearly 20 percent of the overall project budget.

AT&T presented Hope Network with a check for $10,000 at the September 26 Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce event:  Public Policy Breakfast with Legislators.
