Milestones is a short-term residential alternative to inpatient hospitalization for adults experiencing a mental health crisis and require 24-hour support services for behavioral concerns in a supervised environment that allows freedom of movement in the community.
Milestones is a voluntary, community-based, licensed, 6-bed facility that provides an alternative to in-patient hospitalization for individuals experiencing a short-term crisis situation. The setting provides a quiet home-like environment where consumers are able to stabilize and recover with the support of staff and Treatment Team members. Consumers are actively involved in all areas of their treatment process.
Services Provided
- 24-hour on-site staff supports
- Staff/resident ratio sufficient to safely and adequately meet the persons needs
- An on-site Registered Nurse, with 24-hour on-call nursing services
- On-site psychiatric services, with 24-hour on-call support by the psychiatrist
- Case management services to help establish a person-centered treatment plan
- Treatment services provided by a multidisciplinary treatment team
- A Certified Peer Support Specialist on-site
- Services provided under the supervision of a licensed Master's level Mental Health Clinician who is available by telephone after hours
- Daily educational groups to promote recovery, independence, and crisis stabilization
- Other groups covering topics such as: with nutrition and wellness, stress management and relaxation, sympom recognition, co-occurring disorders, medication use and possible side effects, etc.
Program Goals
The main goals of Milestones are to maintain short-term recovery in the least restrictive setting and maximize consumer recovery and discharge to less restrictive setting.
