Milestones is a short-term residential alternative to inpatient hospitalization for adults experiencing a mental health crisis and require 24-hour support services for behavioral concerns in a supervised environment that allows freedom of movement in the community.    

Milestones is a voluntary, community-based, licensed, 6-bed facility that provides an alternative to in-patient hospitalization for individuals experiencing a short-term crisis situation. The setting provides a quiet home-like environment where consumers are able to stabilize and recover with the support of staff and Treatment Team members. Consumers are actively involved in all areas of their treatment process.

Services Provided

  • 24-hour on-site staff supports
  • Staff/resident ratio sufficient to safely and adequately meet the persons needs
  • An on-site Registered Nurse, with 24-hour on-call nursing services
  • On-site psychiatric services, with 24-hour on-call support by the psychiatrist
  • Case management services to help establish a person-centered treatment plan
  • Treatment services provided by a multidisciplinary treatment team
  • A Certified Peer Support Specialist on-site
  • Services provided under the supervision of a licensed Master's level Mental Health Clinician who is available by telephone after hours
  • Daily educational groups to promote recovery, independence, and crisis stabilization
  • Other groups covering topics such as: with nutrition and wellness, stress management and relaxation, sympom recognition, co-occurring disorders, medication use and possible side effects, etc.

Program Goals

The main goals of Milestones are to maintain short-term recovery in the least restrictive setting and maximize consumer recovery and discharge to less restrictive setting.

Applied Behavior Analysis for Autism Spectrum Disorders

Grand Rounds is a new series of professional lunchtime lectures covering a variety of topics relating to autism spectrum disorders and other neurodevelopmental conditions, including ABA, Speech and Language Pathology, and supporting children and adults with autism. Lectures are free of charge and open to the public. Guests are encouraged to bring their lunch. Following each lecture, there will be an opportunity for questions and answers.


All lectures are from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the Hope Network Education Center, 775 36th Street SE, Grand Rapids, MI.

WGVU  |  Hope Network is a non-profit Christian organization well known in Michigan for providing a broad continuum of care in the treatment of brain and spinal cord injuries, developmental disabilities, and mental illness. WGVU’s Caroline MacGregor reports on the organization’s efforts to streamline services and address the alarming mortality rate among people with mental health disabilities.
