Life is challenging.  We want to help.

We are pleased to announce the formation of the Hope Institute for Research, a new entity born of the merger between Hope Network and New Passages, which was official in late 2011.

Our goal is to find better ways to improve the lives of people with disabilities and/or disadvantages through applied research.  We want to find out what works and what doesn't work in terms of treatment and services--what are the best ways to help consumers of Hope Network's services reach their goals?

We all look for ways to make sure that we as an organization are putting 'what works' into practice, even if it means changing our own viewpoints, systems and habits.  Implementation of best practices is not an event, it is a process.  Hope Institute wants to help strengthen that process.  Research can help by:

•    Finding better treatments.

•    Finding effective ways to translate research into everyday practice.

•    Demonstrating the effectiveness of a best practice to outside funders.

Purpose

Hope Institute creates an environment in which innovative, dedicated researchers and practitioners extend the leading edges of knowledge, products, and services provided by Hope Network.

Vision

The Institute seeks to work both independently and collaboratively with major academic institutions.  Its ultimate goal is to facilitate the translation of research to practice, becoming a leading research center for studies related to the organization, delivery and financing of community-based specialty health services.
