Cedar Springs Center opens work and activity programs in Northern Kent County.

1981

Grand Rapids Center for Independent Living established (became independent in 1990).
1983 Separate board created for Pine Rest Christian Rehabilitation Services, independent 501(c)(3).

1985

Pine Rest Christian Rehabilitation Services becomes Hope Rehabilitation Network.
Metropolitan Alternative Housing Corporation established to create affordable housing for persons with physical disabilities.
Brain Injury Program created within Rehabilitation Services building.

1986

Sojourners Transitional Living Center building opens and houses.
Brain Injury Program Kentwood Center activity program opens.

1987

Cedar Springs A.F.C. homes open.
Hope Network Foundation created.
Metropolitan Apartments open to provide affordable, barrier-free living.

1988

Phase II of Sojourners Building opens to house spinal-cord injury program.
Prader-Willi Syndrome program begins.

1989

Northeast Center activity program opens.
